It has been said that “Where ever a beautiful soul has been, there is a trail of beautiful memories. In life as in her passing I am filled with so many amazing memories. And so I say with a heart full of love to each one of you thank all of you for the kindness, the loving care and the support you have given me to help my mom "Bobbie" Roberta White in her last days pass with dignity surrounded by caring individuals and so much love. I would like to personally say a few words to each one of you..
Carolyn- The strength and wisdom you gave me, will never be forgotten. You made me focus and kept my head straight on. The day I opened my door to a bouquet of flowers set the tone and it is a vision I will never ever forget. Its so true when people say its the little things that truly mean so much.
Kristen - Diego is so sorry, but he was so scared and worried ! As for me thank-you so much for your amazing strength in helping me get mom comfortable and calm.
Carrie- Your kindness and loving words will last with me forever as will the connection I feel with you. So many blessings of hope you brought me and I truly thank you so very much.
Andrea - You and I, we truly came full circle. You made me laugh through my tears on that final day. Truth be told you, I can still feel that last hug you gave me, and I must tell you do give the best hugs!
Nea- How can one thank someone who comes in and makes one feel so fresh, delicious and clean. I could not have done that without you. Your kindness and caring were so evident.
Jessica - we met briefly, but thank you for that last tuck in. Mom was so comfortable and cozy that night and it wiped out my stress and put me at such ease that both mom and I slept so well that night.. and after so many sleepless nights it was so needed.
And as for Teddi- There are not enough words in the English vocabulary to express how you held me up these last 4 months. Though it was a battle to get mom into hospice together we didn’t give up and I am so proud we were victorious! Thankfully in the end, my mom was able to finally get the loving care she so deserved and I could not have done any of this without you.
The family and I decided to procure Hospice services for my husband, Robert sometime during the 2nd week of December, We interviewed one on the 9th, another on the 10th and yours on the 12th. There was no comparison between yours and the others. Yours was far and away the best.
We had the occasion to use the Jewish Family Service of Tidewater starting on the 9th of September, this year for Bob. Joe came to provide physical therapy. We were so pleased with his service and his care and concern for a fellow who was not the least bit interested in participating.
On December 13th, 2016 Freda H. Gordon Hospice and Palliative Care of Tidewater began to care for my husband. Kirsten and Andrea were the first to come and talk with us. We had a granddaughter Kirsten, and have a granddaughter-in-law Andrea, so that made it seem even more of a good fit for us. They were very knowledgeable in their field and immediately put us at ease. They were wonderfully warm and caring - more like old friends.
The entire team were very good in their respective fields, but I will mention the two with whom we worked most closely, Samantha and Tom. We found them to be exceptional in what they knew and how they used that knowledge. They were there for us no matter the time of day or night. We could not have done what was necessary without their help. Thanks to them we feel Bob got the best of care.
Thank you so much for being there for us.
We would be happy if you care to put our letter online, so that others might find it helpful when they are looking for a Hospice.
Everything was great. You people are wonderful and Beth Sholom is on top of the list. Thank you for everything!!
I was very pleased with all the care my husband and I recieved. I was most appreciative that because of your services I was able to keep him at home. Its where we all want to be at the end of our time. Everyone was so very kind and compassionate. I truly felt you were an extension of our family. I could write something special about each nurse and CNA who did so much for my husband but I will share one very special occasion. The night my husband passed away Brenda Lucas came immediately. I stayed in the room as she spoke very softly and compassionately directly to my husband explaining what she was doing and reassuring him. That was very unexpected and special moment for me. After the funeral director had come and gone, Brenda offered to stay with me through the night. I told her I would be okay but she said to call her if I changed my mind. Before she left she gave a long, tender hug as she said a beautiful prayer for me. Thank you Brenda, I will remember you all my days and how you turned that heartbreaking, sad night into a beautiful, tender memory. I thank all of you for your loving care and kindness.
The help and Support you gave me during Bills final months was a God-send and I dont know how I would have managed without it. You made a difficult time much more bearable and I cannot speak highly enough of every person involved.
Tiffany was blessed to have the help of the nurses for such a short time. However, the comfort and security I had as her caregiver was something I cant put into words other than Thank You!
Compared to services recieved in Florida for my Father-in-Law who passed this past weekend, your services are 100% better. Your services for my fathers hospice time were exellent and highly recommend!! Praise God for you...
I contacted Freda H. Gordon Hospice on Saturday morning with doubt that I would be successful in obtaining weekend help. Within one hour Grace Padgett appeared at my door and for Saturday, Sunday and Monday evening when my wife died, she was a pillar for me and my wife whose cancer progressed so rapidly over 3 days!! I am a physican. Freda H. Gordon Hospice and nurse Padgett provided all the healing, care and comfort that I could have expected or anticipated. Thank you to you all.
The personal care and concern and the professional services that you and your staff have given my wife and I through the difficult past few months did not go unnoticed. I was "Down for the Count" , not knowing who to call, which way to turn, assuming the fight was lost when you and your services answered. You provided the support, gave me the strength to continue keeping my wife at home and answered my prayers. Each of my wife's caregivers was exceptional with their services and caring for her and their concerns for me. I especially want to thank you for sending Meital Jakubovitz, MSW, to explain the procedures and start-up for the services. I thank you for sending April Jones with her knowledge of medications and her caring concern for my wife and me. Also, thank you for choosing Michelle Slaton with her interest and concern for the special care-giving she gave my wife and her interest in my well being. Included equally with my thanks is "Teddy" who replaced Michelle on several occasions. Thanks to your services I was able to be with my wife any time of the day and night. I was able to talk and sing her favorite songs to her even though she may not have been able to hear me. With April's caution that my wife's time was nearing the end, I was able to be sitting, holding her hand, singing to her when she silently left me. The world seemed to stop and everything became peaceful. I never felt so comfortable and calm. It was the most beautiful thing to experience and I believe that your services made it all possible. I thank you and will always be grateful to you.
"We had a very good caregivers and dad felt special to them and had a place in his heart for each one. He especially bonded with Teddi"
We had no idea how much we needed the ‘angels’ from Hospice and Palliative Care. Thank you for giving us so much help and most of all the dignity my mother deserved.
All of the associates of Hospice and Palliative Care of Tidewater treated our family with dignity, respect and compassion.
Thank God for Angels!
I could not have wished or prayed for any better care than that which was given to my mother. It wasn’t as much the physical care, although that was extremely important – But the love and nurturing that she received by the entire staff at Hospice and Palliative Care. She knew she was loved and cared for – Thank you everyone who touched her life and our family!
You did a great job with Mom, kept us informed and notified me when she started to transition. You really helped us especially at the very end. THANK YOU!
Thank-you to all the staff at HPCT for your professionalism and support during the period of my father’s health. We are all grateful for the work you do and for the comfort brought to our family’s home.
Although my entire exposure to your staff was only 24 hours, it was excellent.
